On 21-22 October, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum hosts the international Conference Artist and Carpet: Today and Tomorrow dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Kamil Aliyev, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, Istiglal Order recipient celebrated in Azerbaijan by order of President Ilham Aliyev. Organizers: Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
The opening ceremony of the hybrid conference will be on Thursday, October 21, 10:00.
34 specialists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Japan, Argentina, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Russia, Latvia, Austria, Germany, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan will join the conference.
During the 2-day academic sessions the participants will deliver presentations on the following topics: Carpet Artists Within Tradition, Carpet in the Works of Contemporary Artists, Curatorial Projects on Contemporary Carpet Weaving, Contemporary Carpet Art of Azerbaijan.
The conference includes a cultural program. Guests will explore the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and visit the Old City Museum Center and Heydar Aliyev Center.
On October 22, the participants will visit the grave of Kamil Aliyev at The Alley of Honor and honor his memory.
